The AWE track catback I had on my MK7 GTI sounded really good. Their 3″ stainless steel downpipe also features a 200-cell high flow catalytic converter with direct fitment to the OEM catback. Unless if you get a JB4 with the data cable or a Stage 2 tune, downpipe is not worth it. If you won't be doing the work yourself, get a catted downpipe. Unfortunately, it still caused a CEL P0420 for "Catalyst efficiency below threshold" and of course I've been getting stonewalled by ARM, so no help there. It wasn’t a big deal at all. I don’t think you’ll get a CEL if you get the catted one, however I know that most of the time if you go catless without a tune you will get a CEL. Or get one custom made with a nice EPA-approved GESI cat.
